Heather Findlay
Editor in Chief and co-owner of our company, Heather has a B.A. in Women's Studies from Brown University and a doctorate in English from Cornell. She was the editor of On Our Backs before leaving to start Girlfriends in 1994; two years later she acquired On Our Backs and relaunched it in 1998. Now she directs the editorial of all of the company's magazines, oversees new product development, and writes an occasional book review for Girlfriends. In 1998 she married her girl, Alice, whose money she spends on their growing wine collection.
